Buying cases & modding at HodlChip

The case sets the limits for everything inside it, and modding parts make the build your own:

  • PC cases: choose by motherboard size, then check graphics card length, CPU cooler height, radiator mounts and power supply format.
  • Server & rack cases: 19-inch chassis from 1U to 6U for home labs, storage builds and servers.
  • Case parts & accessories: dust filters, replacement panels, vertical GPU mounts, fan hubs and power buttons.
  • RGB lighting: ARGB strips, controllers and lit cables. Check the connector type, 5 V ARGB or 12 V RGB, before you plug anything in.
  • Sleeved cables & PSU cables: sleeving by the meter, heat shrink, cable combs and cable management.
  • Tools & maintenance: screwdrivers, antistatic gear and cleaning supplies.

Plan airflow and cable routing together: a case with space behind the motherboard tray and pre-installed fans saves time and parts. Ready-made sleeved extensions and PSU cable kits are in cables & adapters. The PC Builder checks case clearances for the parts you choose.

Questions about cases & modding

Which case size do I need?
Match it to your motherboard and parts. A mid tower takes ATX boards and most graphics cards and radiators; a full tower adds space for E-ATX boards, more radiators and drives; small form factor cases need Mini-ITX boards and often SFX power supplies.
Can I mix RGB products from different brands?
Electrically yes, if the connectors match: 3-pin 5 V ARGB devices go on ARGB headers or controllers, 4-pin 12 V RGB devices on RGB headers. Software is a separate matter, as most brands use their own apps; syncing through motherboard headers is the simplest common ground.
Are sleeved PSU cables compatible with any power supply?
Extension cables are, because they connect to your existing PSU cables. Full custom cable kits plug straight into the power supply and must match its exact pinout, so buy kits listed for your PSU model and never reuse them with a different unit.
