Buying gaming desks at HodlChip

Measure your space and your setup before choosing a desk:

  • Width: 120 to 140 cm fits one large monitor and peripherals; 160 cm or more suits dual monitors, an ultrawide plus a second screen, or a streaming setup.
  • Depth: 70 to 80 cm keeps a 27- to 34-inch monitor at a comfortable distance and leaves room for keyboard and mouse; shallower desks work well with monitor arms.
  • Height adjustment: electric sit-stand desks let you alternate positions through the day, and dual-motor models lift heavier loads more smoothly. Memory presets save your heights.
  • Load capacity: add up monitors, arms, PC and speakers; a full-tower PC on the desk adds a lot of weight.

If you plan to clamp monitor arms, check the desktop thickness and edge, and look for cable trays, grommets and hooks to keep wires tidy. A full-surface desk mat protects the top and gives your mouse a consistent surface. Set the desk so your elbows rest at about 90 degrees with relaxed shoulders, and pair it with a well-fitted gaming chair.

Questions about gaming desks

How wide should a gaming desk be?
For one monitor and peripherals, 120 to 140 cm is enough. For two monitors, an ultrawide plus a second screen, or a streaming setup with a microphone arm, choose 160 cm or more.
Is a height-adjustable desk worth it?
If you spend long hours at the desk, it helps: switching between sitting and standing lets you change posture during the day, and the desk can be set exactly to your height. Dual-motor models carry heavy setups more smoothly.
Can I mount monitor arms on a gaming desk?
Usually, yes, if the desktop thickness is within the clamp range and the edge is solid. Check for a frame or crossbar under the top that could block the clamp, and use a reinforcement plate on thin tops.
