Buying sim racing at HodlChip

A sim racing setup is a system: wheel base, wheel, pedals and a rig that holds them still. Build it in this order:

Wheel bases, wheels and pedals work most smoothly within one brand's ecosystem, and console play needs a base licensed for your console, so check PC, PlayStation or Xbox support before you buy. Our sim racing setup guide walks through budgets and compatibility.

Questions about sim racing

Where should I start with sim racing?
Start with a wheel base and pedals you can mount securely; a desk clamp works for lower-torque bases. Upgrade to a load cell brake and a rigid rig as you progress. Our sim racing setup guide covers budgets step by step.
Will a wheel base work on my console?
Only if it is licensed for that console. Many direct drive bases are PC-only, while others come in PlayStation or Xbox versions. Use the Platform filter in wheel bases, steering wheels and pedals, and note that pedals and shifters usually connect through the base for console use.
Can I mount a direct drive wheel base on a desk?
Lower-torque bases can be clamped to a sturdy desk. Above roughly 8 to 10 Nm, desks flex and clamps can slip, so a wheel stand or cockpit is recommended.
