Buying workstation pcs at HodlChip

A workstation PC is built to run heavy work for hours, reliably. Match it to your software:

  • Graphics: NVIDIA RTX PRO cards bring drivers certified for many CAD and engineering applications, ECC memory and large VRAM, up to 96 GB on the RTX PRO 6000. A GeForce RTX card suits GPU rendering, video and AI work where certification is not required.
  • Video memory for AI: a model's weights must fit in VRAM at the precision you run them, with room left for context. As a rule of thumb, 4-bit models need about half a gigabyte per billion parameters, plus context.
  • Memory and storage: plenty of system RAM for large scenes and datasets, and fast NVMe storage for projects, caches and model files.
  • Power, noise and space: high-end GPUs draw a lot of power under sustained load, so check the power supply rating, the noise level and where the system will sit.

Check the certifications your software vendor requires before choosing a GPU. To build your own, start with graphics cards, where the Series filter shows RTX Workstation and Radeon Pro models, and the PC Builder. Custom configurations and volume orders are quoted by email: support@hodlchip.com, subject "Business quote". Our local AI PC guide explains sizing.

Questions about workstation pcs

What is the difference between a workstation and a gaming PC?
A workstation is built for sustained professional work: professional GPUs with certified drivers and ECC memory, more memory, and parts chosen for stability over long runs. A gaming PC prioritizes frame rates.
How much VRAM do I need for local AI?
Roughly half a gigabyte per billion parameters at 4-bit quantization, plus room for context: around 20 GB for a 32B model and 40 GB for a 70B model. A 96 GB RTX PRO 6000 runs much larger models on one card; see our local AI PC guide.
Can I order a configured workstation or several units?
Yes. Email support@hodlchip.com with the subject "Business quote", listing your applications, workloads and budget, or the number of units you need. Payment is in BTC, ETH or USDT, as for every order.
