Buying custom loop kits & chillers at HodlChip

Not every loop has to be planned part by part. Four ways to start:

  • Custom loop kits: a matched CPU block, radiator, pump and reservoir, fittings and tubing in one box. Check the radiator size against your case, and whether a GPU block is included.
  • GPU upgrade kits: a block and backplate made for specific graphics card models, such as RTX 5090 kits for listed partner and reference boards.
  • External cooling systems: pump, reservoir and radiator in one unit outside the case, connected to the blocks in your PC by two tubes.
  • Water chillers: refrigerated units that cool the coolant below room temperature, for benchmarking and very high heat loads. Their cooling capacity, listed in watts, must exceed the heat you add.

Chillers bring a risk of condensation: coolant below the room's dew point makes water form on blocks and tubes. Keep the coolant above the dew point in normal use, and insulate cold parts if you go lower. Chillers also need ventilation and a pump in the loop. For individual parts, see water blocks, radiators and pumps and reservoirs; the custom water cooling guide covers the basics.

Questions about custom loop kits & chillers

What does a custom loop kit include?
Usually a CPU block, a radiator, a pump and reservoir, fittings, tubing and coolant. GPU blocks are often sold separately because they are made for specific card models, so check the contents on the product page.
Do I need a chiller for my PC?
For everyday use, no: a well-sized radiator keeps a loop cool and quiet. Chillers suit benchmarking, extreme overclocking and setups with very high heat loads. They are louder, use more power and need care to avoid condensation.
Why is condensation a risk with a chiller?
If the coolant is colder than the room's dew point, moisture from the air condenses on blocks, fittings and tubes, and water can drip onto components. Keep the coolant above the dew point, or insulate every cold part before running below it.
