Buying wheel & base bundles at HodlChip

A bundle pairs a wheel base with a matching wheel, and often pedals, so the parts work together out of the box. Compare bundles on four points:

  • Torque: entry sets with up to about 9 Nm work on a sturdy desk; 12 Nm and more call for a rigid wheel stand or cockpit.
  • Platform: many bundles are PC-only. Console sets are licensed for PlayStation or Xbox, which is stated in the product name and on the product page.
  • Contents: wheel and base only, or pedals too. Check whether a desk clamp is included and which quick release the wheel uses.
  • Upgrade path: within one brand you can usually add pedals, a shifter or a stronger base later and keep the rest.

Configurator bundles let you choose the wheel, base, pedals or rig options as one package, with the choices shown on the product page. If you already own a base, see steering wheels; for parts on their own, see wheel bases and pedals. The sim racing setup guide walks through budgets and mounting.

Questions about wheel & base bundles

Is a bundle better than buying parts separately?
A bundle guarantees that the wheel, base and pedals fit and work together, and it is the simplest way to start. Buying separately lets you combine a stronger base or better pedals, as long as they share a quick release and platform.
Will a bundle work on PlayStation or Xbox?
Only if it is licensed for that console, which is stated on the product page. Many direct drive bundles are PC-only, and console bundles usually work on PC as well.
Can I mount a bundle on my desk?
Lower-torque bundles usually include or accept a desk clamp, and a sturdy desk handles them. Above roughly 8 to 10 Nm, a wheel stand or cockpit keeps the base from moving and the force feedback clean.
