Accessibility statement

HodlChip wants everyone to be able to browse, compare and buy hardware on hodlchip.com, including people who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, voice control or keyboard-only navigation. This statement applies to the website hodlchip.com.

Our target: WCAG 2.2 Level AA

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, the standard published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). We apply it to new pages and features as we build them, and to existing pages as we review them.

Conformance status

hodlchip.com is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA: most of the site meets the standard, but some parts may not yet fully do so. Known limitations are listed below, and we work to fix issues as they are found or reported.

What we have built in

  • A "Skip to main content" link at the top of every page
  • Semantic headings, landmarks and lists, so that pages can be navigated with a screen reader
  • A declared page language, so that screen readers use the right pronunciation
  • Visible focus indicators for keyboard users; menus and panels can be operated with the keyboard and closed with the Esc key
  • Text alternatives for informative images, while decorative images are hidden from assistive technologies
  • Status messages, such as confirmations, announced to screen readers without moving the focus
  • Pages that reflow on small screens and can be zoomed; zoom is never disabled
  • Reduced animation for visitors who turn on the "reduce motion" setting of their operating system
  • Touch targets checked against the WCAG 2.2 minimum target size
  • Prices always available as text in US dollars, with crypto equivalents marked as approximate
  • On the payment page, the amount and the deposit address are shown as text as well as in the QR code, so you never need to scan it

Known limitations

  • Payment time limit. A crypto quote is held for a limited time, typically up to 60 minutes for Bitcoin and 30 minutes for ETH and USDT, because exchange rates move. If you need more time, the deposit address is still watched for 30 minutes after the countdown, and you can start a new payment from your order page at any time.
  • Third-party content. Manufacturer websites and documents that we link to are outside our control and may not meet the same standard.

If you find a barrier on hodlchip.com, or need information in a different format, email support@hodlchip.com and mention accessibility in the subject line. Please include:

  • the web address of the page
  • what you were trying to do, and what went wrong
  • the device, browser and any assistive technology you use, if you are comfortable sharing it

We reply within one business day, Monday to Friday, 9:00–18:00 UTC. If something on the site blocks you, we help you by email while we work on a fix, for example by answering product questions, making changes to an order before it ships, or sending you the content of a help or legal page as plain text.
