Buying cooling at HodlChip
Cooling decides how quiet your PC runs and whether the CPU and GPU hold their boost clocks under long loads. There are three routes:
- Air cooling: a good tower cooler handles most gaming CPUs quietly, has no pump to wear out and needs nothing more than dusting. Check its height against your case.
- AIO liquid coolers: sealed, pre-filled loops with a 240 to 420 mm radiator. They suit hot, high-core-count CPUs and builds with no room for a tall tower.
- Custom water cooling: separate blocks, radiators, pump, fittings and tubing that cool the CPU and graphics card in one loop. It gives the most freedom and, with enough radiator area, very low noise under load, but it needs planning and maintenance.
Whatever you choose, airflow still matters: case fans bring cool air in and push warm air out, and fresh thermal paste keeps contact efficient. Planning a loop? Start with the custom water cooling guide.
