Returns & warranty
Warranty and repairs (RMA)
Every product we sell is new, genuine and covered by the full manufacturer warranty. The warranty length depends on the product and is shown on each product page. During the first 12 months, we handle the warranty claim, known as an RMA (return merchandise authorization), with the manufacturer on your behalf.
Which route applies
| Problem | When | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Dead on arrival or damaged in transit | Within 14 days of delivery | Report it with photos. We replace it or refund it in full, with return shipping on us. |
| A fault appears in use | First 12 months | Email us. We handle the RMA with the manufacturer for you. |
| A fault appears in use | After 12 months, within the warranty period | Claim directly with the manufacturer, following its warranty process. |
Before you file a claim
- Check the manufacturer's troubleshooting guidance. Firmware, BIOS or driver updates, and reseating cables and components, solve many problems.
- Note the product's serial number, usually printed on a label on the product or its box.
- Back up your data. Warranty covers the hardware, not the data on it, and storage devices are often wiped or replaced during repair.
- Keep the original packaging if you can: it is the safest way to ship the product.
How to file a claim in the first 12 months
- Email support@hodlchip.com with your order number, the product and its serial number, a description of the fault and what you have already tried. Photos or a short video help.
- We review the details and send you return instructions.
- Pack the product securely and ship it with a tracked service.
- We handle the claim with the manufacturer and keep you updated by email.
- The manufacturer decides on repair or replacement under its warranty terms, and we return the repaired or replacement product to you.
Turnaround times depend on the manufacturer and the product.
After the first 12 months
For the rest of the warranty period, claim directly with the manufacturer through its official support website. Keep your order confirmation email, because manufacturers usually ask for proof of purchase.
What warranties usually exclude
Each manufacturer sets its own terms, but warranties commonly exclude:
- Physical or liquid damage, and damage caused by accidents or misuse
- Damage from modifications or from operation outside specifications, which for some manufacturers includes overclocking
- Normal wear and consumable parts
- Products whose serial number has been removed or altered
Check the warranty terms for your product on the manufacturer's official website.
Your statutory rights
The manufacturer warranty comes in addition to your statutory rights as a consumer and does not limit them. For example, consumers in the European Union benefit from a legal guarantee of conformity of at least two years from delivery. See our Terms of sale.
