Overview

This adapter lets you power a 6-pin PCIe graphics card using two 4-pin Molex connectors from an older power supply. It is a 10cm Y-cable with black and yellow wiring.

Design and Build

The adapter uses a Y-cable layout measuring 10 cm end to end. Wires are black and yellow with no sleeving. Connector housings are black on the PCIe plug and black and white on the two Molex sockets.

Compatibility and Use

It connects two standard 4-pin Molex peripheral leads to a single 6-pin PCIe graphics card power input. This allows newer GPUs to run on power supplies without native PCIe connectors. The manufacturer recommends powering the two Molex plugs from separate PSU rails for stability.
