Overview

This full-cover water block cools the GPU, memory, and VRM on AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT reference design cards. It features a chrome-plated copper base, optimized flow geometry, and a matching backplate.

Design and Materials

The cold plate uses chrome-plated copper, which is harder than nickel and resists acids, scratches, and chipping. A single O-ring seals the perimeter for a clean appearance. The acrylic terminal follows the Aurora styling with evenly diffused addressable RGB lighting.

Cooling Performance

The fin structure was co-developed with AMD board partners using 0.4 mm thick fins spaced 0.4 mm apart. A revised jet plate inlay spreads water pressure evenly across the fins, and the adjusted inlet angle improves flow distribution for better heat absorption.

Thermal Interface Materials

Alphacool Subzero thermal paste (16 W/mK, 850,000 TF viscosity) is included for the GPU die. Soft Pads at 1 mm thickness (7 W/mK) cover the VRM and memory, while 3 mm pads (3 W/mK) handle the PCB backside. All compounds are electrically non-conductive.

Connectivity and Included Parts

One 3-pin 5V digital RGB connector (Phanteks pinout) powers the lighting. The package includes the water block, a matching backplate, mounting hardware, thermal paste, and all required thermal pads for a complete installation.
