Overview

An 8-core, 16-thread desktop APU built on Zen 3 architecture with integrated Radeon Vega 8 graphics. Suitable for compact gaming builds and productivity systems that do not require a discrete GPU.

Architecture and Performance

The processor uses the Zen 3 microarchitecture manufactured on a 7 nm FinFET process. Each of the eight cores accesses a shared 16 MB L3 cache, improving gaming and single-thread throughput. Precision Boost 2 adjusts frequencies in real time up to the 4.6 GHz turbo limit within the 65 W thermal envelope.

Integrated Graphics

The on-die Radeon Vega 8 GPU provides eight compute units and 512 shaders clocked at 2,000 MHz. It enables 1080p gaming at modest settings and drives multiple displays without a discrete graphics card, saving space and power in small form factor builds.

Platform and Memory

The AM4 socket works with 500-series chipsets after a BIOS update to AGESA 1.0.8.0 or newer. The dual-channel memory controller supports DDR4-3200 UDIMM natively and higher speeds via overclocking. The CPU provides 24 PCIe 3.0 lanes for GPUs, NVMe storage, and chipset connectivity.

Overclocking and Cooling

The multiplier is unlocked for manual tuning through BIOS or AMD Ryzen Master. Precision Boost Overdrive raises clocks automatically when thermal headroom exists. The retail package includes the AMD Wraith Stealth cooler rated for the 65 W TDP.
