Overview

A modified Laing D5 pump with a detachable OLED controller, integrated flow and temperature monitoring, a 25W PWM fan header, and RGBpx lighting control for up to 90 addressable LEDs.

Detachable Controller Design

The controller unit separates from the motor for easier installation. Cables stay connected to the controller while the motor is mounted. An OLED display with mechanical buttons and a touch slider allows pump configuration without a PC.

Performance and Monitoring

The pump delivers a maximum pressure head of 3.7 meters at 65W power draw. An algorithm calculates coolant flow from motor parameters, while a sensor on the stainless housing provides accurate temperature readings. A mechanical flow sensor can be added via the fan header for higher precision.

Fan and Lighting Control

The PWM fan header supports up to 25W for multiple fans with overload protection. The RGBpx output controls up to 90 addressable LEDs in four groups with 23 effects, including sound-to-light and AMBIENTpx screen mirroring. Six integrated LEDs illuminate the decoupler area.

Mounting and Connectivity

A silicone decoupler with mounting plate and vertical bracket minimizes vibration. A flat silicone inlay is included for use without the decoupler. Connectivity includes Aquabus, SATA power, and USB for aquasuite software integration.
