Overview

The AXAGON ADE-ARC converts a USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port into a Gigabit Ethernet connection. It suits laptops, ultrabooks, and desktops needing a wired network link.

Design and Build

The adapter uses an aluminum shell that dissipates heat and resists wear. It measures 58 by 24 by 16 millimeters and weighs 20 grams including the integrated 15-centimeter USB-C cable.

Performance and Use

The Realtek RTL8153 controller delivers full gigabit throughput with IPv4/IPv6 checksum offload, TCP large send offload, VLAN tagging, and Energy Efficient Ethernet. Wake-on-LAN works with Magic Packet, Microsoft wake patterns, and RealWoW! for remote wake over the internet.

Compatibility and Features

Plug-and-play on Windows 8.1 and later, macOS, Linux, Chrome OS, and Android devices that support Ethernet. The CDC-ECM class enables automatic driver installation across platforms. No external power adapter is required.

Connectivity and Package Contents

A USB-C male plug connects to the host; an RJ-45 socket accepts UTP or STP patch cables. Two LEDs show link status and activity. The box includes the adapter and a multilingual manual.
