Overview

This aluminum enclosure turns a SATA M.2 SSD into a portable USB-C drive. It fits 2242, 2260, and 2280 modules and works with Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android.

Design and Build

The enclosure uses a black brushed aluminum shell that resists fingerprints and aids cooling through ventilation holes. A screwless latch allows tool-free access to the M.2 slot. Dimensions are 94 x 41 x 10 mm and weight is 36 grams without cable or drive.

Performance and Compatibility

The USB 3.2 Gen 2 connection delivers up to 10 Gbps bandwidth, while the SATA 6G interface supports drives up to 6 Gbps. It accepts B-key and B+M-key SATA M.2 SSDs of any capacity. UASP and TRIM are supported on Windows 8 and later for sustained performance.

Features

Hot-plug and plug-and-play operation require no drivers on supported systems. A blue LED shows power and activity status. The drive enters standby after five minutes of inactivity. Power is drawn from the USB bus up to 900 mA.

Connectivity and Contents

A reversible USB-C female port connects to the host. The package includes a 20 cm USB-C male to USB-A male cable, mounting hardware, and a multilingual quick guide. Compatible with Windows 7 through 11, macOS 10.x+, Linux kernel 2.6+, and Android devices with host support.
