Overview

This PCIe x1 network adapter adds a Gigabit Ethernet port to a desktop PC. It includes both standard and low-profile brackets for flexible installation.

Design and Installation

The card uses a single-lane PCI Express 1.1 interface compatible with PCIe 1.0a through 3.0 slots. It fits x1, x4, x8, and x16 connectors. Both a standard-height bracket and a low-profile bracket are included for use in full-size or slim cases.

Performance and Features

The Realtek RTL8111E/F controller provides auto-negotiation at 10, 100, or 1000 Mbps. Hardware checksum offload for IPv4, IPv6, TCP, and UDP reduces processor overhead. Large send offload, IEEE 802.3x flow control, 802.1Q VLAN tagging, and 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet are supported.

Connectivity and Management

A single RJ45 port connects to UTP or STP cabling with Auto MDI/MDIX crossover correction. Two LEDs indicate link status and activity. Wake-on-LAN works via Magic Packet, pattern match, and link change. The proxZzzy standard allows proxy management for sleeping hosts.

Operating System Support

Drivers are available for Windows XP through 11 and Server 2003 onward, all 32- and 64-bit editions. Support extends to macOS 10.4+, Linux kernel 2.4 through 4.x, FreeBSD, SCO Unix, UnixWare, and Novell platforms. A multilanguage quick guide is included.
