Overview

Design and Build

The tool is machined from high-grade aluminum with a black anodized finish. Hardened steel elements ensure durability through repeated use. The compact module secures the processor by aligning with the socket arrow marking.

Operation

Insert the CPU into the module following the arrow indicator. Turn the Allen key slowly to apply even force that separates the heatspreader from the die. The process typically completes in less than sixty seconds.

Performance Impact

Removing the stock thermal interface material eliminates a major thermal bottleneck. Users can apply liquid metal or high-conductivity paste directly to the die. Load temperatures typically drop 10 to 20 degrees Celsius.

Reassembly Option

A third component mounts over the module to press the heatspreader back onto the CPU using a vice method. Silicone adhesive secures the IHS for standard cooler mounting. Excessive pressure must be avoided to prevent damage.
