Overview

Transparent silicone O-rings install under keycaps to quiet Cherry MX mechanical switches. The 125-piece kit fits most standard layouts.

Design and Materials

Each ring is molded from tear-resistant silicone rated at Shore 40A hardness. The transparent construction ensures LED backlighting shines through keycaps without obstruction. Dimensions are 8.0 mm outer diameter, 4.8 mm inner diameter, and 1.6 mm thickness.

Performance and Feel

Rings cushion the keycap stem against the switch housing to eliminate hard bottom-out clack. This creates a consistent, quieter sound profile and reduces finger fatigue during extended typing sessions. Maximum key travel is shortened slightly.

Installation and Compatibility

Remove each keycap, slide one ring onto the stem, and reinstall the cap. Firm presses seat the rings securely. The kit works with the vast majority of keyboards using Cherry MX compatible switches.
