Overview

A two-piece tool built to cut the foam tape securing the display on Late 2012 iMacs. The nylon handle holds a wheel that slides into the thin gap and slices the adhesive.

Purpose-Built Design

The tool splits into a handle and a cutting wheel. The handle is laser-cut from tough nylon and shaped for a secure grip. The wheel is profiled to enter the extremely narrow space between the glass panel and the aluminum chassis.

How It Works

Insert the wheel into the gap and roll it around the perimeter. The blade slices through the foam adhesive tape that bonds the display to the frame, allowing the screen to be lifted away for internal access.

Compatibility

This opening wheel is engineered specifically for iMacs released in Late 2012. It addresses the unique adhesive layout used on that generation and is not intended for other models.
