Design and Cooling

The drive uses a slim M.2 2280 PCB with a low-profile graphene aluminum heat spreader measuring 2.21 mm thick. This design dissipates heat during heavy workloads and fits tight spaces in gaming laptops and motherboards. An optional integrated heatsink model adds extra thermal dispersion for PlayStation 5 installations.

Performance

A Gen 4x4 NVMe controller paired with 3D TLC NAND delivers sequential speeds up to 7,300 MB/s read and 6,000 MB/s write. Random performance reaches 1,000,000 IOPS. The 1 TB model is rated for 1,000 TBW and a 2 million hour MTBF.

Compatibility and Use

The SSD conforms to the NVMe and PCIe 4.0 x4 standards. It works in any M.2 2280 slot supporting PCIe 3.0 or 4.0, including desktops, gaming laptops, and the PlayStation 5 when equipped with the heatsink version. Capacities range from 500 GB to 4 TB across the product line.

What Is Included

The package contains the Kingston Fury Renegade SSD with the pre-applied graphene aluminum heat spreader. The heatsink model includes the integrated aluminum heatsink instead. No cables, screws, or software are bundled.
