Performance and Use Case

Delidding allows the CPU cooler to contact the processor dies directly. This bypasses the heat spreader and can lower temperatures by 10 to 15 degrees Celsius when liquid metal is used. The process voids the processor warranty and carries a risk of damage.

Compatibility Notes

Intel Core Ultra 200 series processors use indium solder under the heat spreader. This makes standard TIM replacement impractical, so the tool is intended specifically for direct-die mounting rather than heat spreader reuse.
