Overview

This black anodized aluminum backplate mounts to the rear of Radeon RX 5700 and XT graphics cards to improve cooling and add rigidity. It is designed for Heatkiller IV water blocks and includes pre-cut thermal pads.

Design and Build

The backplate is machined from solid black anodized aluminum. It covers the rear of the graphics card to provide structural stiffness and a uniform appearance.

Thermal Performance

The plate makes contact with the GPU and voltage regulation modules on the PCB backside. Pre-cut thermal pads are supplied to ensure proper heat transfer.

Installation

Isolating spacers on the backplate prevent electrical shorts. Mounting hardware is tailored for Heatkiller IV VGA water blocks; using other blocks may require custom hardware.
