Overview

The ASRock B850 Pro RS is an ATX motherboard built around the AMD B850 chipset and AM5 socket. It supports Ryzen 7000, 8000, and 9000 series processors with DDR5 memory up to 8000 MT/s.

Design and Power Delivery

The board uses a black ATX layout with heatsinks on the VRM and M.2 slots. Dual 8-pin CPU power connectors supply stable current for overclocking high-end Ryzen processors.

Memory and Storage

Four DIMM slots accept up to 256 GB of DDR5 with AMD EXPO and Intel XMP profiles. Storage includes one PCIe 5.0 M.2, two PCIe 4.0 M.2, one PCIe 3.0 M.2, and four SATA 6 Gbps ports.

Expansion and Connectivity

A full-size PCIe 5.0 x16 slot handles modern graphics cards while a second x16 slot runs at PCIe 4.0 x4. Rear I/O provides USB 4.0 Type-C, USB 3.1 Type-C, four USB 3.0 Type-A, six USB 2.0, HDMI, and 2.5 GbE LAN.

Cooling and Extras

Seven 4-pin PWM headers support fans and radiators. Internal headers include USB 3.0 Type-C, two USB 3.0, two USB 2.0, RGB and digital RGB connectors, front audio, and SPI TPM. BIOS flashback allows recovery without a CPU installed.
