The AXAGON ADR-215 is a 15-meter active USB 2.0 extension cable that amplifies signals for reliable long-distance connections. It suits users who need to place peripherals far from the host computer.

Design and Build

The cable measures 15 meters with a compact active repeater housing of 74 x 22 x 13 mm. Gold-plated USB-A connectors resist corrosion. The black PVC jacket is not shielded or sleeved. Total weight is 503 grams.

Performance and Use

The built-in repeater boosts the USB 2.0 signal to maintain 480 Mbit/s high-speed, 12 Mbit/s full-speed, and 1.5 Mbit/s low-speed rates over the full length. Multiple cables can be chained for greater distance. It supports mice, keyboards, webcams, printers, scanners, and 2.5-inch drives when external power is used.

Power Options

The cable draws up to 500 mA from the host USB bus by default. A 3.5 mm barrel jack accepts 5V at 1 to 2 A from an external adapter for power-hungry devices. A 1.2 meter USB-A to 3.5 mm power cable is included for use with standard phone chargers.

Compatibility and Contents

Works with Windows XP through 11, Windows Server 2003 through 2022, macOS 10.x, and Linux kernel 2.6.x or newer. Drivers install automatically. The package includes the active extension cable, the power cable, and a multilingual guide.
