Overview

This ribbed aluminum enclosure houses a 3.5 inch SATA hard drive and connects via USB-C 3.2 Gen 1. It suits users adding high-capacity external storage to a desktop or server.

Design and Cooling

The enclosure features a ribbed aluminum chassis that dissipates heat without a fan. An inner frame secures the drive, while rubber feet keep the unit stable on a desk. The black finish resists fingerprints.

Performance and Drive Health

The USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface delivers up to 5 Gbps theoretical bandwidth. UASP support reduces latency on Windows 8 and later. S.M.A.R.T. data passes through for drive health monitoring, and the drive spins down automatically after 10 minutes of inactivity.

Connectivity and Compatibility

A reversible USB-C port on the enclosure accepts the included 80 cm USB-C to USB-A cable. A USB-A to USB-C adapter is also provided for legacy ports. The unit works with Windows, macOS, and Linux without extra drivers.

Power and Package Contents

An external 12V 2A AC adapter with a 150 cm cable powers the drive. A rear power button controls the unit. The box includes mounting screws, a screwdriver, adhesive rubber pads, and a multilingual guide.
