Overview

A dual-port 10 Gigabit Ethernet server adapter using the Intel X550 controller. It fits low-profile slots and supports virtualization offloads.

Design and Form Factor

The card uses a low-profile PCB with a black and green color scheme. A low-profile bracket is supplied for installation in slim server chassis. It occupies a single PCIe 3.0 x4 slot.

Performance and Virtualization

The Intel X550 controller delivers two 10GBase-T ports with speeds down to 100 Mbps. SR-IOV and VMDq reduce hypervisor overhead by moving switching and queue management to hardware. Flexible Port Partitioning allocates bandwidth per virtual function.

Storage and Offload Features

Hardware offloads include iSCSI, FCoE, and NFS for storage traffic. Intel Data Direct I/O places data directly into CPU cache. On-chip QoS and traffic management prioritize critical workloads.

Connectivity and Cabling

Ports accept RJ45 Category 6 cable up to 55 meters and Category 6A up to 100 meters. Wake on LAN and PXE boot are supported. The adapter operates at 8 GT/s across four PCIe lanes.
