The Lexar NQ790 is a 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD using PCIe 4.0 x4 for fast boot and load times. It suits PC builders wanting high-speed storage for gaming or heavy workloads.

Design and Build

The drive uses a single-sided M.2 2280 layout measuring 22 x 2.45 x 80 mm and weighs about 6 grams. It has an anthracite PCB and does not include a heatsink.

Performance

PCIe 4.0 x4 bandwidth delivers up to 7000 MB/s read and 6000 MB/s write speeds. Random performance reaches 800,000 IOPS read and 600,000 IOPS write. The 3D TLC NAND is rated for 600 TBW and 1.5 million hours MTBF.

Compatibility and Use

The M-Key connector fits standard M.2 slots supporting PCIe 4.0 or 3.0. It works as a primary OS drive or secondary storage for games and applications. Operating temperature range is 0 to 70 degrees Celsius.
