The Lexar NQ790 is a 2 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 drive built for fast boot and load times. It suits PC builders and upgraders who want high throughput and solid endurance.

Design and Build

The drive uses a single-sided M.2 2280 form factor measuring 22 x 2.45 x 80 mm and weighs about 6 grams. It has an anthracite PCB and no integrated heatsink. 3D TLC NAND provides the storage medium.

Performance

The PCIe 4.0 x4 connection enables up to 7000 MB/s sequential read and 6000 MB/s sequential write. Random performance reaches 800,000 read IOPS and 600,000 write IOPS. The drive operates from 0 to 70 degrees Celsius.

Reliability

Endurance is rated at 1200 terabytes written. Mean time between failures is specified at 1.5 million hours. The controller supports NVMe 1.4 for efficient command handling.

Compatibility

The M-Key M.2 connector fits standard desktop and laptop slots supporting PCIe 4.0 or 3.0. No cables or brackets are included in the package.
