Overview

This ATX motherboard uses the Intel Z890 chipset and LGA 1851 socket to support second-generation Core Ultra processors. It suits gamers and builders who want PCIe 5.0 graphics and storage bandwidth plus extensive cooling headers.

Design and Power Delivery

The board uses a 6-layer PCB with a 14+1+1+1 phase VRM solution covered by heatsinks. An integrated I/O shield simplifies installation. Debug LEDs and a BIOS Flashback button aid troubleshooting without a CPU installed.

Memory and Expansion

Four UDIMM slots accept DDR5 up to 6400 MT/s standard and 9200 MT/s when overclocked via Intel XMP 3.0. Expansion includes one PCIe 5.0 x16 slot, two PCIe 4.0 x16 slots wired electrically x4, and one PCIe 4.0 x1 slot.

Storage and Connectivity

Four M.2 sockets provide one PCIe 5.0 x4 and three PCIe 4.0 x4 connections, with one also supporting SATA. Four SATA 6Gbps ports are available. Rear I/O offers USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, four USB 2.0, HDMI, DisplayPort, and 5GbE LAN.

Cooling and Extras

Seven 4-pin PWM headers support fans and pumps. M.2 heatsinks cover each slot. Internal headers include one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, two USB 3.2 Gen 1, two USB 2.0, one 12V RGB, three 5V digital RGB, front audio, and SPI TPM. Audio uses the Realtek ALC897 codec.
