Overview

This CNC-milled acrylic tool enables precise lapping of 12th and 13th Gen Intel CPU heat spreaders. It includes three grits of sandpaper and mounting hardware.

Design and Materials

The tool is CNC-milled from transparent acrylic glass measuring 65 x 9 x 58 mm. Integrated ridges around the CPU socket act as a depth gauge; when they disappear, the 0.2 mm material removal limit is reached.

Performance and Use

Lapping the integrated heat spreader flattens the surface for better thermal contact with a cooler cold plate. The process voids the processor warranty. The tool fits both 12th and 13th Generation Intel Core CPUs.

Included Accessories

The package contains the lapping tool, four mounting screws, four polyurethane washers, a 2.5 mm hex key, and one sheet each of 400, 1200, and 2500 grit sandpaper.
