Overview

This ATX motherboard pairs the AMD X870 chipset with the AM5 socket for Ryzen 9000 series CPUs. It targets high-end gaming builds that need robust power delivery and fast I/O.

Design and Power Delivery

The board uses a 19-phase VRM cooled by substantial heatsinks to sustain high CPU clocks. Dual 8-pin 12V connectors feed the CPU, while a 24-pin ATX connector powers the platform. Eight 4-pin PWM fan headers and a dedicated AIO pump header provide extensive cooling control.

Memory and Expansion

Four DDR5 DIMM slots support up to 192 GB at speeds reaching 8000 MT/s when overclocked. The primary PCIe 5.0 x16 slot runs at full x16 electrical from the CPU. A second PCIe 4.0 x16 slot operates at x4 electrical from the chipset.

Storage and Connectivity

Two CPU-linked M.2 slots use PCIe 5.0 x4 for the fastest NVMe drives, while two chipset-linked slots use PCIe 4.0 x4. Two SATA 6 Gbps ports remain for legacy drives. Rear I/O includes one USB4 Type-C at 40 Gbps with DisplayPort alt mode, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, five USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, four USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, and 2.5 GbE LAN.

The package contains two SATA 6 Gbps cables, an M.2 thermal pad for 22110 drives, a Wi-Fi Q-antenna, cable ties, M.2 Q-Latch and Q-Slide tools, a ROG keychain, stickers, M.2 rubber packages, and a quick start guide.
