Overview

This USB 3.2 Gen 1 to 2.5GbE adapter adds a high-speed RJ45 port to any laptop or desktop. It draws power from the USB bus and works without extra drivers on modern operating systems.

Performance and Standards

The adapter negotiates 10, 100, 1000, or 2500 Mbps automatically and complies with IEEE 802.3bz for 2.5GBase-T over Cat5e or Cat6 cable up to 100 meters. It offloads TCP large send and checksum tasks to reduce CPU load.

Advanced Features

Supports IEEE 802.1Q VLAN tagging, IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet, and multiple Wake-on-LAN modes including Magic Packet and RealWoW! for remote wake over the internet. Auto MDI/MDIX removes the need for crossover cables.

Design and Build

An aluminum shell provides mechanical protection and passive cooling. The compact 64 x 24 x 14 mm body and 15 cm integrated cable make it suited for mobile use with laptops and ultrabooks.

Compatibility and Contents

Works with Windows 7 through 11 and Server 2008 through 2022, macOS 10.6 or later, and Linux kernel 2.6.14 or later. The package includes the adapter and a printed multi-language manual.
