Overview

This 12th Gen Intel Core i7 processor delivers 12 cores and 20 threads for demanding workloads and gaming. It fits LGA 1700 motherboards and requires a separate cooler.

Hybrid Architecture

The Alder Lake-S design combines eight performance cores with four efficiency cores. Performance cores handle heavy single-threaded tasks at up to 5.0 GHz, while efficiency cores manage background work at lower power.

Memory and Platform

The integrated memory controller runs dual-channel DDR4 or DDR5 at speeds up to 4800 MT/s. The processor connects through 20 PCIe 4.0 lanes and requires a motherboard with an LGA 1700 socket.

Overclocking and Power

An unlocked multiplier allows frequency tuning on Z690 boards. The base power is 125 W, with a maximum turbo power of 190 W. No cooler is included in the boxed package.

Key Technologies

Features include Hyper-Threading, Turbo Boost, Speed Shift, DL Boost for AI inference, AES-NI encryption, VT-x with EPT for virtualization, and Execute Disable Bit for security. Integrated graphics are not present.
