Overview

This ATX motherboard pairs the Intel Z890 chipset with an LGA 1851 socket for second-generation Core Ultra processors. It targets enthusiasts building high-end systems with extensive storage and overclocking headroom.

Power Delivery and Overclocking

A 22+1+2+2 phase VRM supplies stable current for CPU overclocking. DDR5 memory can be pushed to 9200 MT/s across four DIMM slots supporting up to 256 GB. A Clear CMOS button on the rear I/O simplifies recovery.

Storage and Expansion

Six M.2 sockets accept NVMe SSDs, with three wired for PCIe 5.0 x4 and three for PCIe 4.0 x4. Four SATA 6 Gbps ports add traditional drive support. Expansion includes one PCIe 5.0 x16, one PCIe 4.0 x4, and one PCIe 4.0 x1 slot.

Connectivity and Networking

Rear I/O provides two Thunderbolt 4 ports, one USB-C 3.1, four USB 3.1 Type-A, and four USB 3.0 Type-A. Networking uses a 2.5 Gbps LAN port, a 5 Gbps LAN port, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4. Video output is available via HDMI and the Thunderbolt ports.

Design and Included Headers

The back-connect layout moves key power and data connectors to the motherboard underside for cleaner cable routing in compatible ASUS BTF cases. Internal headers include two USB4 Type-C, two USB 3.0 Type-C, two USB 3.0 Type-A, two USB 2.0, three digital RGB, front audio, SPI TPM, and eight 4-pin fan connectors. VRM and M.2 heatsinks are integrated.
