Overview

A desktop USB 2.0 reader for contact smart cards and electronic ID cards. Compatible with Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android devices.

Design and Build

The reader sits on a weighted base with an anti-slip pad for stability. A fixed 1.3-meter cable connects via USB Type-A. A red LED shines through the contact symbol to show card orientation and flashes during data transfer before turning off.

Card Compatibility

The single slot accepts contact ATM, CAC, ID, IC, and SIS cards. It supports ISO 7816 Class A, B, and C cards at 5V, 3V, and 1.8V. Protocols T=0, T=1, I2C, and SLE 4432/42 and 4418/28 are supported. RFID cards without visible contacts are not supported.

Software and OS Support

The device uses the Microsoft USB-CCID driver for plug-and-play operation. It supports all 32-bit and 64-bit Windows versions from XP to 11 and Server 2003 to 2022. macOS 10.x+, Linux kernel 2.4.x+, and Android 8+ are also supported.

In the Box

The package includes the smart card reader with its hardwired cable and a multilingual quick-start guide. It is packed in a cardboard box with a hanging hole.
