Overview

A foldable USB-A 2.0 reader for contact smart cards and ID cards. Works with Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS devices.

Design and Portability

The reader folds flat for pocket carry and weighs 13 grams. An integrated loop attaches to a key ring so the device stays accessible. Dimensions are 52 by 20 by 16 millimeters.

Card Support and Standards

The single slot accepts ATM, CAC, ID, IC, and SIS cards with visible contacts. It supports ISO 7816 Classes A, B, C and EMV 4.1 Level 1. Protocols T=0, T=1, I2C, and common SLE memory cards are supported.

Compatibility and Drivers

Works with Windows 7 through 11, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android using the Microsoft USB-CCID driver. Plug and Play operation requires no extra driver installation on supported systems. A smart card application must be installed on the host device.

LED Indicators and Power

A single LED shows USB connection with a steady light and data transfer with a flashing light. The indicator turns off shortly after activity stops. The reader draws power from the USB bus and enters a power saving mode automatically.
