This tray-packaged Intel Core Ultra 9 285K delivers 24 cores and a 5.7 GHz max boost for gaming and heavy multitasking. It targets enthusiasts building on the LGA 1851 platform who supply their own cooling.

Hybrid Architecture Performance

Eight Lion Cove performance cores reach 5.7 GHz single-core boost for gaming and single-threaded workloads. Sixteen Skymont efficiency cores handle background tasks at up to 4.6 GHz. Intel Thread Director routes work to the appropriate core type automatically.

Overclocking and Memory

The free multiplier allows independent tuning of P-cores and E-cores. The memory controller runs dual-channel DDR5 at speeds up to 6400 MT/s. Total cache combines 40 MB L2 and 36 MB L3 for low-latency data access.

Platform Connectivity

The CPU provides 20 PCIe 5.0 lanes, allocating 16 to a graphics card and 4 to an NVMe SSD. Four additional PCIe 4.0 lanes support a second high-speed drive. Thunderbolt 5 and Wi-Fi 7 readiness depend on motherboard implementation.

Integrated Graphics and AI

The Xe LPG integrated GPU includes four Xe cores for display output and light compute without a discrete card. An on-die NPU accelerates AI inference workloads. Base power is 125 W with a 250 W maximum turbo power limit.
