Overview

This anodized aluminum frame replaces the stock AM5 socket retention module to distribute mounting pressure evenly across Ryzen 7000 and 9000 processors. A silicone foam insert seals the gap around the heat spreader to protect exposed components when using liquid metal.

Design and Materials

The frame is machined from anodized aluminum with a black primary finish and red accents. Its optimized internal contour creates multiple contact points on the heat spreader, replacing the motherboard's stock retention module to deliver uniform pressure across the CPU.

Liquid Metal Protection

A supplied silicone foam insert fits between the heat spreader and frame to seal the gap. This barrier prevents liquid metal or thermal paste from reaching unprotected CPU components. The insert is mandatory for liquid metal applications and optional for standard thermal pastes.

Installation and Compatibility

Installation follows a specific orientation guided by a top-edge marking and the socket recess. The package includes four screws and a T20 Allen key. The frame works with Thermal Grizzly AM5 backplates and fits only AMD Ryzen 7000 and 9000 series CPUs on AM5 motherboards.
