Overview

A shortened mounting plate that replaces the stock AM5 backplate so AM4-compatible coolers with custom retention kits can be used on AM5 motherboards.

Design and Materials

The plate is machined from anodized aluminum and coated with a polycarbonate layer to prevent electrical shorts. Its compact 68 by 65 millimeter footprint and 3 millimeter thickness keep clearance tight around the socket.

Function and Compatibility

It provides an alternative mount for the Socket Actuation Mechanism when the factory backplate is removed. This allows AM4 coolers that use custom retention hardware to be installed on AM5 motherboards.
