Overview

An ATX motherboard built on the Intel Z890 chipset for Core Ultra Series 2 processors. It suits gamers and power users who need high-speed storage, memory, and connectivity.

Design and Power Delivery

The board uses a 16+1+1+1+1 phase Dr.MOS design for the VCore and GT rails. Heatsinks cover the VRM area and all four M.2 slots. An integrated I/O shield simplifies installation in standard ATX cases measuring 305 by 244 mm.

Memory and Expansion

Four DDR5 DIMM slots support dual-channel kits up to 256 GB at 8666 MT/s with XMP 3.0. The primary PCIe 5.0 x16 slot runs at x16 or splits to x8/x8. Two additional PCIe 4.0 x4 slots and one PCIe 4.0 x1 slot provide extra expansion capacity.

Storage and Connectivity

Four M.2 sockets include one CPU-attached PCIe 5.0 x4 drive and three PCIe 4.0 x4 drives. Four SATA 6 Gbps ports are also available. Rear USB includes one USB4 40 Gbps Type-C, one USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 20 Gbps Type-C, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 10 Gbps Type-A, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 5 Gbps Type-A, and four USB 2.0 Type-A ports.

Networking and Audio

A 2.5 Gbps Ethernet port and Wi-Fi 7 with Bluetooth handle wired and wireless networking. Audio is driven by a Realtek ALC897 codec with two 3.5 mm jacks and an S/PDIF output. Internal headers include USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 headers, two USB 2.0 headers, front panel audio, and eight 4-pin fan or pump connectors.
