Overview

The Z890 Taichi AQUA is an E-ATX motherboard built for Intel Core Ultra 200 series processors. It targets enthusiasts who need extensive PCIe 5.0 connectivity, high-speed networking, and robust power delivery for custom water-cooling loops.

Design and Cooling

The white E-ATX board measures 305 x 274 mm and includes full VRM and M.2 heatsinks. It is engineered for custom water cooling with dedicated pump headers and multiple thermistor inputs for loop monitoring.

Performance and Memory

Four DDR5 DIMM slots support up to 256 GB at speeds reaching 9,200 MT/s via XMP 3.0. The 28+1+2+1+1 phase VRM delivers stable power for heavy CPU and memory overclocking on Arrow Lake processors.

Storage and Expansion

Six M.2 sockets provide two CPU-attached PCIe 5.0 x4 slots, one CPU-attached PCIe 4.0 x4 slot, and three chipset-attached PCIe 4.0 x4 slots, one of which also supports SATA. Four SATA 6 Gbps ports and three PCIe expansion slots complete the storage and add-in options.

Connectivity and Included Accessories

The rear I/O offers two Thunderbolt 4 ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports, four USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C ports, 10 GbE and 5 GbE RJ45 jacks, Wi-Fi 7 antenna connectors, and audio jacks. Internal headers add two USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C ports, four USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, four USB 2.0 ports, and four RGB headers. The box includes four SATA cables, an antenna, an ARGB splitter, and three thermistor cables.
