Overview

This compact adapter adds a Gigabit Ethernet port to any device with a USB 3.0 Type A port. It works with Windows, macOS, Linux, and select Android devices.

Design and Build

The adapter measures 61 x 25 x 17 mm and weighs 23 grams including the permanently attached 15 cm USB 3.0 Type A cable. Two LEDs indicate link status and network activity. No external power supply is required.

Performance and Standards

The Realtek RTL8153 chipset delivers 10/100/1000 Mbps auto-negotiation with full-duplex flow control. It supports IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet, Jumbo frames, TCP Large Send Offload V1/V2, and hardware CRC error detection.

Advanced Features

Features include IPv4/IPv6 checksum offload to reduce CPU load, IEEE 802.1Q VLAN tagging, Auto MDI/MDIX crossover correction, and Pair Swap/Polarity/Skew correction. Wake-on-LAN supports Magic Packet, pattern match, link change, and RealWoW! remote wake.
