Overview

This ATX motherboard pairs the AMD X870 chipset with the AM5 socket to support Ryzen 9000 series processors. It targets gamers and builders who want PCIe 5.0 graphics and storage, fast USB4 connectivity, and robust power delivery.

Design and Power Delivery

The board uses a 20-phase VRM with heatsinks to maintain stable CPU clocks under load. An integrated I/O shield simplifies installation. M.2 heatsinks and a backplate help keep storage and VRM temperatures in check. RGB Fusion lighting is supported via two 5 V ARGB headers and one 12 V RGB header.

Memory and Expansion

Four DDR5 DIMM slots support up to 192 GB at 8000 MT/s with AMD EXPO profiles. The primary PCIe 5.0 x16 slot runs at full x16 electrical from the CPU. Two additional PCIe 3.0 x16 slots operate at x1 electrical from the chipset. Total usable PCIe lanes reach 36.

Storage and Connectivity

Three M.2 sockets accept 2280, 2580, 22110, and 25110 form factors: one PCIe 5.0 x4 from the CPU and two PCIe 4.0 from the chipset. Four SATA 6 Gbps ports are also available. Rear I/O includes two USB4 Type-C at 40 Gbps, one USB 3.1 Type-A at 10 Gbps, three USB 3.0 Type-A at 5 Gbps, four USB 2.0 Type-A, HDMI 2.1, 2.5 GbE LAN, audio jacks, and antenna connectors.

Internal Headers and Features

Internal headers provide one USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C, two USB 3.0 ports, eight USB 2.0 ports, front-panel audio, RGB headers, and six 4-pin fan connectors including dedicated CPU and CPU/pump headers. BIOS Flashback and a rear reset button aid recovery. Power input uses 24-pin ATX plus dual 8-pin 12 V connectors.
