Overview

A pocket-sized USB 3.0 adapter that connects any 2.5-inch SATA SSD or HDD to a computer. It supports UASP, TRIM, and booting, and ships with a short cable and a hard-shell carry case.

Design and Portability

The adapter measures 70 x 21 x 10 mm and weighs 11 grams. A rigid plastic case holds a 2.5-inch drive up to 9.5 mm thick with the adapter attached, and foam pads secure thinner 7 mm drives. The case also stores the adapter and its 10 cm USB 3.0 Type-A to Micro-B cable when not in use.

Performance and Compatibility

The SATA 6Gbps interface works with SATA III, II, and I drives of any capacity. UASP and BOT protocols are supported, and the USB 3.0 link caps theoretical throughput at 5 Gbps. The device is backward compatible with USB 2.0 and draws up to 900 mA from a single port.

Features and Management

TRIM support preserves SSD write speeds over time. S.M.A.R.T. data can be read to monitor drive health. Automatic spindown activates after 22 minutes of inactivity, and the drive powers off when the host sleeps or the adapter is removed. Hot-plug and full plug-and-play operation require no extra drivers on Windows, macOS, or Linux.
