Overview

This PCIe 2.0 x1 card adds two RS-232 serial ports with DB9 connectors to a desktop PC. It suits industrial, retail, and legacy equipment connections.

Design and Installation

The card uses a single-lane PCIe 2.0 connector compatible with any x1, x4, x8, or x16 slot. A standard bracket is pre-installed and a low-profile bracket is included for compact chassis. Installation is plug-and-play with automatic IRQ and I/O address assignment.

Performance and Compatibility

Each port delivers up to 250 kBd with 16C550, Extended 16C550, and 16C950 UART compatibility. The ASIX AX99100 chipset provides 256-byte transmit and receive FIFO buffers. Supported OS range covers Windows XP through Windows 11 and Server 2003 through 2016 and later, both 32-bit and 64-bit.

Serial Features

Ports support TXD, RXD, RTS, CTS, DTR, DCD, DSR, and RI signals. Configurable options include baud rate, word length from 5 to 9 bits, parity, stop bits, and flow control. Advanced 9-bit data transfer and custom baud rates are available. ESD protection exceeds ±15 kV air gap and ±8 kV contact discharge.
