Overview

This PCIe 2.0 x1 card adds four external USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports to a desktop. It suits users who need more high-speed ports for drives or peripherals.

Design and Installation

The card uses a single-lane PCIe 2.0 connector compatible with larger slots. Both a standard-height and a low-profile bracket are supplied for different case sizes. All four USB ports face the rear bracket.

Performance and Compatibility

The Renesas μPD720201 chipset delivers up to 5 Gb/s per port and supports UASP for faster storage transfers. The card is backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 devices and works without extra drivers on modern Windows and Linux systems.

Power Options

Standard power comes from the PCIe slot, supporting up to three 2.5-inch magnetic drives. A 15-pin SATA power connector provides optional supplemental power for more demanding peripherals.
