Overview

This PCIe 3.0 x16 adapter adds an M.2 NVMe slot to desktops lacking one. It fits drives up to 2280 and uses a passive aluminum heatsink for cooling.

Design and Cooling

The card measures 102 by 43 by 8 millimeters and weighs 43 grams. A red and black aluminum cover acts as a heatsink, paired with three included thermal pads to dissipate heat from single or double-sided SSDs.

Performance and Compatibility

The PCIe 3.0 x4 interface delivers up to 8 GB/s bidirectional bandwidth. It accepts M-key or B+M-key NVMe SSDs of any capacity in 2230, 2242, 2260, and 2280 form factors. The adapter is backward compatible with PCIe 1.0a, 1.1, 2.0, and 2.1 slots.

Features

An onboard LED indicates power and drive activity. The adapter supports booting from the installed NVMe SSD and requires no driver installation for Windows 7 through 10, Windows Server 2012 and 2016, or Linux kernel 2.6.31 and later.

What Is Included

The package contains the adapter with pre-attached heatsink, three thermal pads, mounting hardware with a screwdriver, and a printed multilingual installation manual.
