Overview

This low-profile PCIe 3.0 adapter adds an M.2 NVMe slot to any x16, x8, or x4 slot. It supports drives up to 2280 mm and delivers up to 8 GB/s throughput.

Design and Compatibility

The compact card measures 90 x 22 x 5 mm and weighs 10 g. Its low-profile bracket fits 1U rack servers and slim cases. The edge connector works in x16, x8, or x4 PCIe slots across generations 1.0a through 3.0.

Performance and Drive Support

The M-key M.2 socket accepts NVMe SSDs from 2230 to 2280 mm with no capacity limit. Both single-sided and double-sided modules are supported. PCIe 3.0 x4 signaling provides up to 8 GB/s bidirectional throughput.

Thermal Management

Copper-plated vents and an included thermal conductive pad help dissipate heat from the SSD during sustained workloads. An onboard LED indicates link status and data activity.

Installation and OS Support

The adapter is powered entirely from the PCIe slot and requires no extra cables or drivers. It supports Windows 7 through 11, Windows Server 2008 R2 through 2016, and Linux kernel 2.6.31 or newer. Booting from the installed SSD is supported.
