Overview

This low-profile PCIe adapter adds an M.2 NVMe slot to desktops lacking one. It fits x16, x8, or x4 slots and includes a passive aluminum heatsink for thermal management.

Design and Cooling

The card uses a black PCB with a ribbed aluminum cover that acts as a passive heatsink. Supplied thermal pads contact both sides of the M.2 drive to dissipate heat from high-performance PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSDs. The low-profile form factor measures 105 x 45 x 12 mm and weighs 50 grams.

Performance and Compatibility

The adapter operates at PCIe 3.0 x4 speeds up to 8 GB/s and is backward compatible with PCIe 2.0 and 1.0 slots. It accepts M-key and B+M key NVMe drives of any capacity without size limits. Boot support is included and no drivers are needed for Windows or Linux.

Installation and Contents

Installation uses the included mounting kit and screwdriver. The package provides the adapter with pre-attached heatsink, thermal conductive pads, a multilingual manual, and a cardboard box with a hanging hole. Power is drawn entirely from the PCIe slot with no external connectors required.
